So, what came in this week?
For fun and self-discovery, not a psychological assessment.
Who you are
Your week has a rhythm, and the lounge is part of it. You drop in mid-week and ask what's arrived before you've even sat down. Nobody needs a reason to be there, least of all you.
You read the release lists for fun. You know which shop got the small allocation and when it'll be gone. Friends stop you on the way in to ask what to try. You usually have an answer, and a single in your pocket to prove it.
Your four letters
- SSocial Other people make the cigar.
- EExplorer New releases and new brands.
- UUnwind Cigars close ordinary days.
- AAficionado Notes, origins, pairings and an ordered humidor.
Strengths
- Always a step ahead You hear about new arrivals before the shelf card is printed.
- A ready recommendation Ask you what to try and you'll have two names and a reason.
- Catches the small runs Gems with tiny allocations reach your humidor before they sell out.
- Easy to talk to You share tips freely and never make anyone feel behind.
Blind spots
- One shot per cigar A blend gets one chance, even if it caught you on a bad night.
- Singles pile up The humidor fills faster than your evenings can empty it.
- Chasing over savouring Sometimes the next arrival matters more than the one in your hand.
- Light on favourites Ask for your all-time best and you might go quiet.

At the lounge
The lounge is your second living room, and mid-week is your time. You know the staff by name and the regulars by what they smoke. You do the rounds with the latest single, passing it across for a look. Then you settle in and swap notes until it's late.
Your setting: Your usual chair at the lounge, mid-week.

With friends
You share the way a good neighbour lends tools. If a friend mentions a flavour they like, you remember. Next week there's a single waiting for them, with a note on why. You rarely host at home. You'd rather bring the find to people already gathered and hear what they make of it.
How you host: You don't host. You bring the new arrival to the regulars.

Your ritual
Walk in and ask what came in. Pick the newest thing on the shelf and check the band against your list. Cut and light, then find someone to compare notes with by the second third. By the end you've decided what to look for next week.
How you buy
You buy one of each, almost never a box. New arrivals go straight into a section of the humidor marked to try. You keep a list of what's due and which shop gets it first. The plan is to smoke them in order. The plan rarely survives the next delivery.
At your best
At your best, you're the lounge's early warning system for good cigars. You point people to things they'd never have found. You're happy to be wrong about one, too. Your tips make other people's ordinary evenings better.
When it slips
When it slips, the hunt replaces the smoke. You light something new every visit and remember none of it well. The humidor becomes a waiting room for singles you'll never reach. A second smoke of last month's find would fix a lot.
Two things to try
- Buy two of the next new cigar you like, and smoke the second a month later.
- Ask a regular for their all-time favourite, and smoke it beside them.
Smoking buddy
Same company, same moments, the other side of new versus classic.
SLUA The SageThe Sage knows the classics and you know what's next, so the talk never runs dry.
Your opposite
Every letter flipped.
PLCF The SentimentalistThe Sentimentalist shows you how much one cigar can mean when it's tied to a day. You can show them how much there still is to find.
In the stars just for fun
Someone at the lounge has been saving a tip for you.
Is this you?
Don't know your type yet? It takes about four minutes.
