Who we are
Breaking Cigars is run by Anatolie Clevan. Send questions about this policy or your data to aclevan@leadsace.io.
Cigar quiz
The Find your cigar quiz asks for your name and email before it shows your card. Your name, email, answers and card go to our customer records on Close. In the United States, the report comes with our weekly newsletter, and one click unsubscribes. Everywhere else, you join the newsletter only if you tick its separate box.
Smoke Signature
The personality test works without an email. When you finish, we keep your answers and type to check the questions work. Nothing with them names you: no name, email, cookie or IP address. Leave your email on the result and you join the newsletter. Your name, email and type then go to Close.
My CigarDNA accounts
An account keeps your name, email, saved test results and course progress. It also keeps your profile answers. They go to Close when your profile is complete, or when you tick an introduction box. Tick one and we may share your name and email with that lounge, brand or shop. It also keeps a scrambled copy of your password. They sit in a Cloudflare database. Your name, email and types also go to Close. You join the newsletter only if you tick its box.
We can't read your password. Deleting your account on the My CigarDNA page erases it and your results from that database. To remove your Close record as well, email us.
Lounge and brand audits
The audits ask for your name, work email, phone, business, city and role. You fill these in before the questions start. We receive those details when you press start, even if you never finish. Your answers and score follow when you do. Everything goes to Close, our customer records, and to a Google Sheet we use for follow-up.
Text messages
Ticking the box on an audit means Breaking Cigars can email, call and text you. The texts are about your results and the services we offer lounges and brands. Some are sent automatically.
How often we text depends on where our conversation is. Message and data rates may apply.
Reply STOP to any text and we'll stop texting you. Reply HELP for help, or email aclevan@leadsace.io.
Agreeing to texts isn't a condition of buying anything from us.
We send texts through Close. Close uses your number only to deliver our messages. We never share your mobile number or text consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing. We don't sell or rent them either.
Carriers aren't liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Newsletter
The signup form sends you to our publication on beehiiv. Beehiiv receives what you enter there and sends the letter. The letter pop-up on our education pages asks for your name and email. They go to Close, our customer records, and we add you to the letter. Every issue has an unsubscribe link.
Bookings, applications and videos
Booking calendars come from Calendly. They load when you scroll near them, and Calendly receives your booking details. The brand application opens your own email app. Nothing reaches us until you press send. Blog videos use YouTube's no-cookie player, which sets cookies only once you press play.
Click counts
We count page views on every page. On the quiz report and the cigar atlas, we count link clicks too. A count holds the page, the link, the cigar and the referring site. It also holds your country, city and device type. Your browser keeps the date of your last visit. That tells a first visit of the day from a repeat. It holds no name, email, cookie or IP address, so it can't be tied to you. The counts sit in a Cloudflare database.
Website analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits, page views and referring websites.
It reports device and country information without analytics cookies.
Microsoft Clarity records page interactions, including clicks and scrolling, and creates heatmaps and session replays.
We use these recordings to find confusing pages and broken controls.
Clarity masks page text and form entries before sending recordings to Microsoft.
We keep Clarity cookies off and do not send it names, emails or account identifiers.
Clarity does not load on My CigarDNA profile screens.
Cookieless recordings cover individual page views, so they do not reliably identify returning visitors.
Microsoft handles usage data under its privacy statement.
How we use your details
We use them to send your card or report and to reply to you. If you agreed, we also follow up about our services by email, phone and text. We never sell your details or rent out our list.
Who else handles your data
These services handle your details for us:
- Cloudflare hosts the site and checks each form for bots. It sees your IP address and some device signals.
- Zapier moves form entries into Close and Google Sheets.
- Close holds our customer records and sends our texts.
- Google runs our email and the follow-up sheet.
- Beehiiv, Calendly and YouTube handle their parts as described above. Calendly also loads payment code from Stripe.
Most of these companies are in the United States, so your data may be processed there.

Cookies and browser storage
Cloudflare Web Analytics and Microsoft Clarity run without analytics cookies in our current setup. We do not use advertising trackers. Your browser saves your quiz and audit progress on your device. A reload won't lose it. Signing in to My CigarDNA sets one cookie that keeps you signed in for 30 days. It does nothing else. Cloudflare's bot check, Calendly and YouTube may set their own cookies when they load.
How long we keep it
We keep lead records while we're in touch and afterwards for our business records. Ask us and we'll delete yours, unless a law makes us keep something.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete what we hold about you. You can also ask us to stop contacting you. Email aclevan@leadsace.io and we'll answer within 30 days. Reply STOP to stop texts. Use the link in any newsletter email to unsubscribe. In the EU or UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
Age
This site is for adults 21 and older. We don't knowingly collect details from anyone younger. If you think we have, email us and we'll delete them.
Changes
When this policy changes, we update the date at the top.
